Job Description
We are seeking R&D Metallurgist (Assistant Manager) to join QHSE Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Metallurgist research, project management, and team leadership. The R&D Assistant Manager will work closely with the QHSE Manager responsible for developing new steel products, improving existing products, and optimizing production processes. This role involves conducting research, performing experiments, and analyzing data to drive innovation and enhance product performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing research projects
- Maintain detailed records of research activities, experimental results, and project progress.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings to colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Identify market needs and opportunities for new steel products.
- Develop new steel grades with specific properties, such as high strength, corrosion resistance, or improved formability.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the performance of new steel grades under various conditions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and sales, to commercialize new products
- Analyze existing steel making and rolling mill processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process modifications to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase production efficiency.
- Conduct trials to evaluate the impact of process changes on product properties and yield.
- Conduct fundamental research on the micro structure, mechanical properties, and processing behavior of steel.
- Develop new metallurgical techniques and technologies to improve steel quality and performance
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, such as defects or Non-conformities.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. Metallurgy, Foundry Material Science, and Metal Processing Engineering) expected 3 years experience in related field (Open for Fresh graduate)
- Has good communications in English
- Proven experience in scientific research and development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong attention to detail
- Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, statistical
- software)
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
- Willing to be placed in Head Office : Cikarang Barat
