PT Smelting was established in February 1996 as the first copper smelter and refinery in Indonesia. The plant is located at Gresik, East Java and its Head Office is in South Jakarta. The company, which is the affiliation of Mitsubishi Materials, produces copper cathode, gypsum, sulfuric acid, copper slag, anode slime. Smelting is a foreign capital company with shares ownership 60.5% Mitsubishi Materials and 39.5% PT Freeport Indonesia.
