Basic Tourism HR Training 

 

 

The Career Development Center of the University of Indonesia in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia held a Goes To Campus Basic Training of Tourism for Human Resources at the University of Indonesia. This activity aims to provide knowledge as well as basic training for students and graduates on tourism. This activity is very important considering that Indonesia is a rich archipelago and has enormous tourism potential.

This activity was opened by Drs. Erwin Nurdin, M.Si as Director of Career Development & Alumni Relations at the University of Indonesia. This activity was attended by 650 participants, both students and UI alumni, who came from various faculties and generations as well as some non-UI students. 

 

  

 

This activity is very useful for students in addition to basic knowledge about career prospects and tourism business in Indonesia, it is also useful for knowledge about the importance of taking part in protecting the area where each one lives both as a place to live and as a state asset that can be developed in order to grow regional potential, especially tourism potential.

CDC-UI together with PT Andiarta Muzizat (Ninja Xpress) invited UI students and alumni as well as CDC-UI members to attend the activity: "Ninja Campus Tour: Logistics Nowaday, Find Sparkilng Career Inside"

 

Ninja Xpress is a logistics startup company that offers innovative logistics solutions with the fastest growing growth in Southeast Asia. Ninja Xpress in collaboration with CDC-UI held activities to provide education and knowledge about marketing trends as well as business opportunities in the logistics sector as well as how the development of current logistics technology. In addition, this activity also provides an overview and opportunities for a successful career in companies in the logistics sector. This activity consists of 2 sessions with speakers who are very competent in their fields. 

 

 

Session 1: Trend of Marketing, Operation and Technology in Logistics Industry

This activity was attended by 145 participants consisting of students and alumni of UI as well as students from other universities. Most participants came from the Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences (31 participants), the Faculty of Humanities (16 participants) and the Faculty of Engineering (13 participants). Meanwhile, at least 2 participants came from the Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Computing Science, and Faculty of Nursing respectively, and none of them attended this activity. 

 

 

For participants from non-UI universities who took part in this activity, among others, came from Gunadarma University, PKPI Pasar Rebo, Binus University, Muhammadiyah Jakarta University, Bogor Agricultural University, Persada Indonesia University, North Sumatra University, Krisnadwipayana University, Surya University, Gunadarma University , Jakarta State University, Paramadina University, Pancasila University, Padjdjaran University, Padang State University, Islamic University of Indonesia, Bengkulu University, APP Jakarta, Andalas University, Trisakti University, AMIK Medicom, UIN Suska Riau, Indraprasta University, Darma Persada University, Development University National, Gadjah Mada University, Budi Luhur University, Jakarta State Polytechnic, Bandung Institute of Technology, Bung Karno University and Hasanuddin University. 

 

  

 

This activity took place smoothly and was very interactive because in addition to delivering the material provided there was also a question and answer session. Many of the participants were very interested in the delivery of the material provided by the resource persons as seen from the number of participants who asked questions.

LinkedIn Dream Jobs 

 

LinkedIn, in collaboration with multinational and national companies, once again held the "LinkedIn Dream Jobs Season 2" event. This event aims to help students and fresh graduates (S1 and S2) in Indonesia find their dream job in well-known companies. In addition, this event will also provide an overview of how to optimize the role of social media, especially LinkedIn to support the careers of job seekers. With this activity, of course, it is hoped that it can provide insight, knowledge and motivation for UI students and alumni to prepare themselves to enter the world of work. 

 

  

 

The Employer Study conducted by the University of Indonesia in 2017 stated that more than 80% of companies pay attention to the "LinkedIn" accounts of the prospective employees they will recruit. This shows that the role of social media, especially LinkedIn media, is very important to support one's career. 

 

  

 

The speaker from LinkedIn at this activity was Ms. Catherine Chien, Consumer Marketing Manager, LinkedIn APAC and Mr. Jacky Bhagchandani, LinkedIn Indonesia Country Lead. Our exposure materials are as follows:

This activity was attended by 353 participants consisting of students and alumni of UI as well as students from other universities. Most participants came from the Faculty of Engineering (71 participants), the Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences (40 participants) and the Faculty of Humanities (34 participants). Meanwhile, at least came from the Faculty of Environmental Science (1 participant), the KSG Faculty (2 participants) as well as none of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy attended this activity. In order to facilitate students in designed their careers and as preparation for entering the world of work , University of Indonesia Career Development Center in collaboration with TNI AU held a Public Lecture and Recruitment with the theme: "Mastery of Aerospace for Improving the National Economy. This event was held on:

Time: 13.00-16.00 WIB                                 

Place: UI Convention Hall, UI Depok Campus

 

The purpose of this event is to provide information and an overview of the importance of mastery of aerospace for the development of the national economy as well as the important role of citizens, especially students, alumni and the academic community for mastery of aerospace. At this event, it will also be conveyed about the recruitment of TNI AU for UI students and alumni as well as their career prospects. The speaker in this activity were Colonel PNB H. Maman Suherman, M.AP., M.TR (HAN) who served as Paban IV Komsosdirga, Spotdirga TNI AU. 

 

  

 

This activity was opened by Dr. drg. Sandra Fikawati, MPH as Head of Career Development Center University of Indonesia. This activity was attended by 203 participants both from UI students and alumni who came from various faculties and generations as well as some non-UI students.

 

This activity is very useful in addition to knowledge about careers, it is also useful for knowledge about the importance of air conditioning in terms of the nation's economy, especially regarding state sovereignty and security. In this general issue, it is explained about air space that has been agreed internationally as stated in Article 1 of the 1944 Chicago Convention that the state has complete and exclusive sovereignty (full and intact) over the air space above its territory. Indonesia has confirmed this principle in Article 5 of Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation which states that: the Indonesian state is fully and completely sovereign over the airspace of the Republic of Indonesia.

 

  

 

Air transportation growth in the past 5 years has averaged 16% and is predicted to continue in line with Indonesia's economic growth which is estimated to reach 6% as well as an increase in the number of middle class people who are able to travel by air.

 

This activity also explained the career prospects as an officer in the TNI career soldier. TNI career soldier officers are a soldier with the rank of an officer who comes from the Career Soldier Officer School. The sources of PK TNI PA reception are those who come from academics, because one of the conditions is S-1 or D-3. This TNI Career Soldier Officer is obtained after a college graduate has taken 7 months of prawira education. After graduating from education in Magelang they will immediately hold the rank of Second Lieutenant. 

 

  

 

Participants who attended this activity mostly came from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with 28 people and the Faculty of Engineering as many as 25 people 79 people. In this activity, there were 2 faculties where students and alumni did not attend, namely the Faculty of Dentistry and the School of Environmental Sciences.
